Mrs. Russell

Hello, I am Samantha Russell! I have been with the Fillmore Central School district since 2016. I began working as a special education paraprofessional. After a couple of years working as a paraprofessional, I decided I loved what I was doing so much that I wanted to further my education and become a special education teacher. I enrolled in Grand Canyon University’s Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education program. I graduated in the spring of 2022 and obtained my Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS) Special Education Teaching License. Later that spring, the district hired me on as the 7th and 8th grade special education teacher. I was so excited to be able to continue my career with Fillmore Central Schools and hope to have many more amazing years to come.

What does an Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS) License cover?

The ABS license allows Special Education teachers to work across multiple disability areas with students who have mild to moderate needs in the areas of academic, behavior, social/emotional, communication and functional performance.
