Science Dept - Julia Olstad

Hello there! My name is Julia Olstad, and I began teaching at Fillmore Central in January of 2012. I grew up in Rushford and graduated from Rushford-Peterson High school in 2003. In December of 2007, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse with my Bachelors in Biology, then received my teaching license from the University of Minnesota-Mankato in May 2010. In December of 2015 I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching, which has given me the opportunity to teach concurrent (college-credit) Anatomy & Physiology here at Fillmore Central. I thoroughly love learning and exploring the human body!
My husband, Levi, and I were married August of 2011. We have two kids, Madeline and Samuel, both of which keep us extremely active and entertained. As for the rest of our family, we have a dog named Bo and six fluffy cats that Madeline treats like royalty. We also have horses and a pony that reside at my parents home outside of Rushford. Levi and I bought land and built our forever home outside of Harmony, where we hope to have our horses and cattle in the near future.
My hobbies include running around with the kiddos, riding/judging/showing horses, being active outdoors, traveling with the family, riding roller coasters, enjoying good food and coffee, and of course doing a little shopping (preferably at Good Will stores)!
This year I will be teaching Physical Science, Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
